Week Ending December 31, 2016
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We’ve slowed down a bit the past couple of weeks for the holiday. Of course, Fr. Roderick was very busy with Christmas in his parishes and then he needed a bit of a break after. But, you know he wouldn’t leave us completely without something to listen to.
We’re looking forward to 2017 this week because we’ve got so many great plans for the new year, including new shows for you to enjoy, as well as our exciting first-ever SQPN Pilgrimage! To celebrate 1,000 episodes of The Break, Fr. Roderick is leading a pilgrimage of SQPN friends to Rome and Assisi next September. Come with us! Read all the details and sign up to join this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
With Fr. Roderick leading, it will be like a soundseeing tour… but in person!
Our Winter Giving Campaign continues moving forward, but we’re only one-third of the way to our goal of $50,000. It is only with your support that we can continue. You may want to take advantage of the tax benefits of making a gift before the end of 2016, so don’t hesitate. We need your help, not just to cover our costs, but to grow and reach more and more people. Thank you.
The “other” science fiction movie to hit theaters in December was Arrival, starring Amy Adams as a linguist who leads a team of investigator to try and communicate with extraterrestrial visitors. Find out what Fr. Roderick thought of the movie and what insights he gleaned from it.
Fr. Roderick Vonhögen and Domenico Bettinelli analyze Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, looking for Easter eggs, references and hidden layers.
Decluttering an apartment is one thing. But you need to move on and apply the same principles to the digital Death Star trash compactor in your life: your computer. Fr. Roderick tells you how he got rid of more than 30,000 emails in one week, as well as lots more hard-drive clogging stuff.
In this episode: Looking back on the year — the year of the Rotterdam Marathon, decluttering, the year of Trideo, the year of LEGO, the year of the viral videos, the year of Patreon.
Fr. Roderick looks back at what he’s learned this year. Which changes did he make? Is he a happier priest now compared to how he felt at the start of this year?
A Long Time Ago… a tiny red vessel, Santa’s sleigh, races through space, pursued by a giant Imperial Star Destroyer. The small sleigh easily overtaken and is drawn underneath the giant starship…
See the stunning conclusion of Fr. Roderick’s Star Wars Advent Calendar. Did the Empire find the location of the Christmas Star?
